On June 27, 2015, in Danang, the Vietnam Environment Joint Stock Company officially inaugurated Phase I of the construction of  Khanh Son solid waste processing complex (Danang) and started its application of no-dumping solid waste treatment technology in Vietnam.

The Khanh Son solid waste processing complex is built on a total area of ​​10 hectares in the village of Khanh Son (Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City).

The plant has a total investment of nearly VND900 billion, allocated for 2 phases. In Phase 1, the total investment is nearly VND400 billion and the facility was put into operation with a processing capacity of 200 tons /day of municipal wastes from Danang city. In Phase 2, the construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. Once it is completed, the total processing capacity will be 700 tons /day, creating jobs for more than 200 local poeple.

The plant was upgraded with investment into technologies of end-of-pipe processing and no-dumping solid waste recycling, without secondary emission polluting the environment, and at the time renewable energy products are produced from solid waste.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman and CEO of Vietnam Environment Joint Stock Company said: "We have studied the technology of solid waste disposal in various parts of the world and other localities throughout the country to identify appropriate technology for waste features in Vietnam, but it is to get maximum reuse of wastes, to minimize the landfill.

After the studies, research and improvements of appropriate technologies, we have developed and applied the technology which can reuse almost 100% of the ingredients contained in the solid wastes to produce useful products. In particular, the rate of landfill is 0%".
