Petroleum dealers in Da Nang have stopped selling RON92 petrol and switch to the E5 since November 1st.
On 23rd September, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam National Petroleum Group, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and Da Nang Committee signed an agreement to launch E5RON92 petrol to the market.
Although the Government decided to start selling E5 from December, 2014, Da Nang has started earlier because this fits with its purpose to build an environment-friendly city. Therefore, Da Nang People’s Committee has agreed with Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to sell E5 earlier than expected.
Accordingly, from November 1st, all petroleum dealers in Da Nang will have to stop selling Mogas RON92 and sell FE5RON92 at the same price of VNĐ 23,710 /liter.
During October, petroleum distributors will gradually import E5 petrol replacing Mogas 92, start to propagate information to let people know how using biofuel helps to protect the environment.
“After November 1st, the dealers who do not obey this policy will be fined seriously or even have their business permit withdrawn”, said Vice Chairman of Da Nang Committee.
At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said: “This is a true and consistent policy to minimize the amount of pollutant emission and reduce dependence on oil import. Hence, the use of E5 petrol is suitable with Da nang’s strategy and policy to build an environment-friendly city.
